They didn't have what I was looking for but I wanted something rather specialized. The gentleman that assisted me went out of his way to try and find something that would work for my particular needs. Excellent customer service
There's no doubt that MEC is a great outdoor company that sells quality products. For parents on a single income there are even a few products that fit in your budget. There were youth rain pants advertised on the website but alas, not in my daughter's size. Staff were helpful but one especially nice gentleman helped us find our product in the right size for only a few dollars more.
Went for a full tune including a shock rebuild on a (new to me) used bike this Spring. Upon receiving my bike back, it shifted worse then before so I brought it back in. Upon inspection, techs found that my rear shock pivot bolts hadn't been re-torqued after the tune, and without taking implicit responsibility, tightened the bolts and sent me on my way. Bike rode awesome and had no troubles until two weeks ago, when one of the shock pivot bolts worked itself loose, and fell out on a ride. Fortunately, the shock axle stayed in place and didn't separate- potentially leading to serious injury. I brought the bike back in and explained my situation and, although friendly and helpful, I sourced the part from another shop. Upon replacing and re-torquing the bolt, I discovered that there was no locktite in any of the shock pivot bolts- an essential step in suspension reassembly. As a shop who claims every bike is cross checked and ridden prior to being handed back to the customer, your techs failed their due diligence here. I won't be bringing my bike back to MEC for service, although I will continue to shop at your store for my other outdoor pursuits.
