This is definitely a pub for the locals. Not bad drink selection. Good deep fried pickles! Busy on a Friday night. Nothing special, but we had a good time.
Lower Lisdade has changed a lot in the last 10 years. This pub has seen minimum changes.... And this is a good thing. A fine place to enjoy a pint and good conversation.
Not crazy about this place as their premium spirits list isnt great and they charge an arm and a leg for em. Beer on tap is good. Saturday nights is a bit more on the younger side of things.
This is what a pub should be. It's not one of those new gastro pubs that belongs in Yale town. I'm not against gastro pubs but sometimes you just want a beer in a clean place with a little character, some decent pub food and reasonable prices. Sailors has all of that.
I simply asked for a cold beer, and what followed was quite possibly the worst experience I've ever had at a pub. Sailor Hagar himself told me that my beer was in "the beer room". So, thirsty as ever, through the door I went. The door violently slammed shut behind me. I tried opening the door, but it was locked from the other side. I spent the better part of an hour fumbling for a light switch. Once I finally got the lights on, I immediately realized that I was not in "the beer room" at all. My phone is at 1% so I dont have time to finish the story. Had a great experience here and would visit again. 5 stars.
